CBAA Annual Report 2008-09

The 2008-09 CBAA Annual Report is now available.

The following excerpt from the President’s Report for the Financial Year ended 30 June 2009 is available in full as part of the 2008-09 CBAA Annual Report.

Looking for a metaphor for the CBAA in 2008/09, it could be the home renovation. At times it’s felt like building from the ground up.

In November 2008, we launched the revised Community Radio Codes of Practice, the result of a long process of consultation throughout 2008, co-ordinated by the CBAA on behalf of the sector. The Codes were well received by stations and regulators alike and came with a detailed set of checklists and examples for policy and procedures that could be used by stations as the basis for their own policies.

In 2007, legislation to introduce Digital Radio to Australia included a place for community broadcasting, the result of many years of consistent advocacy from the CBAA and other sector organisations.
