The CBAA is thrilled to present the Tony Staley Award for 2021 to Ngaarda Media.

The winner of the Tony Staley Award is a community broadcasting organisation or initiative that actively promotes the values of community broadcasting in the areas of democracy, diversity, access, and independence. Ngaarda media embodies this as they continue to advocate, and fight for diversity, and rights, and provide a voice for all those in their community.

"It's important for us to give First Nations people a voice, but of course, as a community radio station, we give all local people a voice" Tangiora Hinaki, Ngaarda Media.

Originally to be presented at the now-postponed CBAA Conference in March 2022, you can watch Ngaarda Media's full acceptance speech.

The CBAA is excited to be kicking off the 2022 Community Radio Awards on 2 May - visit cbaa.org.au/awards for more information.
