The new building will strengthen 3KND’s broadcasting capacity and create more opportunities for employment, training and mentoring. 3KND provides the Victorian Aboriginal community with around-the-clock broadcasting in a positive and culturally appropriate way, as well as specialist training in media and broadcasting.
Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place provides a culturally safe and inclusive space for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to come together for a variety of cultural activities and programs that incorporate art, music, language, and storytelling. Almost $4.5 million will allow the organisation to purchase the building it is housed in, and carry out critical repairs. Funding for 3KND and Mullum Mullum Indigenous Gathering Place has been made available through the Priority Infrastructure and Cultural Heritage Protection for Aboriginal Victorians. |
