Byron Bay Community Radio Station Wins World Radio Accolade

Local Byron Bay community radio station Bay FM 99.9 has been recognised at the New York Festival's International Radio Awards.

Announced overnight in New York, the station's three-part documentary series Memories of Sarajevo, took out the Bronze prize in the World Documentary - Social Issues category.

Produced by Arts Canvass presenter Karena Wynn-Moylan, the series also won the 2014 CBAA Awards for Excellence in Spoken Word, News and Current Affairs Programming.

Memories of Sarajevo chronicles the development of a community radio in Sarajevo during the Balkan War, called Radio Zid.

Congratulations to Karina and the whole Bay FM 99.9 team on this fantastic achievement!
