Call for Comment: CBF Structure and Governance Review – Discussion Paper 2

The Community Broadcasting Foundation (CBF) is continuing the review of its structure and governance and, in September 2015, announced an extension to its consultation process. The CBF has now released a second discussion paper for feedback from the sector. This includes draft guidelines for Content Grants and Development Grants under the new model.

As the previous period for consultation was very short, the CBAA welcomes the CBF’s decision to give stakeholders greater time to explore the detail of the proposed changes to the organisation.

The CBAA is supportive of change that is in the interest of the sector, and, while pleased to see that the CBF has accepted a number of the CBAA’s recommendations, will use this opportunity to help the CBF refine its model to one that best meets the sector’s needs.

How you can provide your feedback

To assist with this, the CBAA encourages members to provide feedback on the discussion paper both to the CBAA by midday AEST on 30 November, and directly to the CBF by midday AEST on 18 December 2015.

There will also be opportunities to provide feedback at the CBAA Conference, taking place from 12 – 15 November in Terrigal NSW, in two sessions – a CBF workshop and also in the final plenary session.

The CBAA will also be convening a special meeting of the Community Broadcasting Sector Roundtable to work through the proposed changes with the other Sector Representative Organisations and CBF.
