In celebration of National Volunteer Week 2021 (17-23 May), the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia is pleased to announce the launch of the inaugural Community Radio Volunteer of the Year — People’s Choice award.

Aiming to recognise and honour the invaluable contribution that volunteers make to the community radio sector, we want to hear why you or your community radio colleague should be the first People’s Choice Volunteer of the Year, with all nominees in the running to win special prizes.

To nominate yourself or a superstar volunteer from your station, you will need:

  • Basic contact information for the nominee, including name, station and email address
  • To tell us how this volunteer has made a significant contribution to your station
  • To tell us how this volunteer continues to engage and inspire
  • A high resolution profile image of the nominee

Nominations for the first round are now open and will close on Tuesday, 11 May at 5pm.

Eight finalists will be determined by an internal CBAA panel based on the number and quality of nominations a volunteer receives, so we encourage teams to get involved and each show their individual support for their favourite volunteer.

The winner will be chosen via a poll on the CBAA Facebook Page, which will be launched on Wednesday, 12 May, with voting closing Wednesday, 19 May at 5pm AEDT.

Nominations for the first round are now open and will close on Tuesday, 11 May at 5pm AEDT.

Tell us why your nominee should win Community Radio Volunteer of the Year — People’s Choice.
