Radio Gumbo

Listeners can look forward to some of the jazziest Christmas music from Louisiana as well as an exclusive interview from the Louisiana State Penitentiary, better known as “Angola”. Dr. Gumbo will be speaking with two inmates, serving life sentences,  who help run the prison’s radio station. Radio KLSP broadcasts to approximately 6,000 listeners including inmates and staff. The station is operated by inmates and airs a variety of programs including gospel, jazz, blues, rock-n-roll, country, as well as educational and religious programs. Dr Gumbo will be asking about Christmas at “Angola” and how music is playing a major role in prisoner rehabilitation.
