The Community Broadcasting Sector Roundtable met in mid-August.

The national representative bodies of our sector came together to discuss a range of topics, including:

  • The CBAA’s Forward Agenda for sector leadership with Government.
  • The latest on Community TV and its future.
  • How the Community Media Training Organisation (CMTO) is continuing to support the development of the sector.
  • And the latest from the Community Broadcasting Foundation (CBF).

This meeting marked the six year anniversary since the start of the Roundtable. As a result participants reflected on the successes of the past six years and on areas for improvement. The Roundtable noted that:

  • The six-monthly meetings have been a great opportunity to share information, network, and help each other strengthen all aspects of the sector.
  • The Roundtable has been able to work well with and support the CBAA as it liaises with Government and supports the community broadcasting sector.

The Roundtable will reconvene early in 2020.
