The inaugural Sydney Reclink Community Cup was played on Sunday 18 March in perfect weather conditions at Henson Park, Marickville.

Whilst the battle was intense at times, the clear victors of the day were the Sydney Sailors who have the honour of taking home The Cup.

The final result was Sydney Sailors: 7.4.46 and Western Walers: 5.7.37

A day of thrills and spills saw Michael Cini of the Western Walers and Alex Dyson of the Sydney Sailors both take home the Best On Ground Award for their respective teams.

The crowd were also entertained by bands during the day with Wolfpack, The Meanies, and Celibate Rifles all playing killer sets.

An estimated crowd of between 2,500 - 3,000 attended, not only to enjoy the big game and live music, but also the family-friendly atmosphere and kids activities.

The annual event which sees music & entertainment industry personnel battle it out against local musicians in the arena of AFL raises funds for Reclink Australia an organisation who provide for Australia’s disadvantaged via sports and arts programs.
