A new National Agreement on Closing the Gap is expected to be signed in the days ahead.

The CBAA and First Nations Media Australia invite community broadcasters to an online media briefing to provide an overview of this historic agreement, the first partnership of its kind between Government and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It was negotiated and co-designed by the Coalition of Peaks, a group of nearly 50 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community-controlled organisations working across a broad range of services and areas, including media.

This briefing is intended to give community media reporters and broadcasters insight about what the Agreement means, how it differs from previous Closing the Gap processes and answer background questions to help formulate news stories and interview content.

Catherine Liddle (pictured), First Nations Media Australia CEO and representative for media on the Coalition of Peaks will lead the briefing.

Put this in your calendar: Tuesday, 28 July 2020 12pm AEST via Zoom. Email [email protected] for access details.

Media release and fact sheet information will be distributed following the signing of the Agreement.
