The National Folk Festival, held at Easter in Canberra each year since 1993, has been a gathering place for folk music presenters on community radio for many years.

This year, the festival will include a dedicated community radio stall! Presenters from stations have the opportunity to fly their station's flag, meet listeners and artists, and give away material or sell merchandise for each of the four full days of the 2016 festival (25 - 28 March).

2016 is the 40th anniversary of the licensing of three stations with a long involvement in the National Folk Festival (2XX in Canberra, 3CR in Melbourne and 2MCE in Bathurst). To celebrate they present a special broadcast of a commemorative concert featuring Indigenous musicians Rayella (NT), Stephen Baamba Albert (WA) and Jacinta Price (NT). The concert will be between 10:00 and 12:00 ADST, and will be available to stations around the country for live broadcast via the Community Radio Network (CRN).

To book a shift on the community radio stall contact 2XX via email or ring 02 6230 0100.
