Community Television's Week of Action
Today, the Australian Community Television Alliance (ACTA) kicks off its week of action (1 - 5 June) calling on people to demonstrate their support for community TV.
The sector is currently in discussions with the Government about its decision not to renew Transmitter (Apparatus) Licences for community television beyond 2015. Community TV is requesting that this deadline be extended until 2019 to allow more time to transition their organisations, program groups and services. Stations are asking their supporters and stakeholders to support their request for an extension of broadcast transmission beyond 2015.
