Leading the Way on the Regional Chart

Since emerging with the global anthem Crave You in 2010, Flight Facilities have consistently defied sonic trends, staying true to crafting feel-good soundtracks perfect for the dancefloor. They’ve returned to claim the top spot on the Regional Chart this week with Better Than Ever. Featuring the soulful sounds of prolific American musician Aloe Blacc, the track ventures into new territory for Flight Facilities, capturing just the right amount of fuzzy bass and contagious gospel harmonies for a warm summer anthem. Not far behind at number six on the Regional chart is Melbourne based songstress, Elenore with her latest, Don’t Fall in Love Again. Honest and raw, the track moves from a catchy, upbeat pop groove to a heartbreaking, stripped back bridge.

Music Moving the Metro Chart

Amrap chart favourite, Perth’s Phoebe Gunson  - AKA Your Girl Pho - is back on top of the Metro Chart with her latest single, Don’t Wanna. While staying true to her jazzy-pop stylings, the track takes on a more moody, electronic vibe,  opening with Gunson dropping some knowledge about self-respect and answering to no-one but yourself. Elsewhere on the Metro chart, Memphis LK has debuted at number seven with sweeping bass-pop tune, Roses. The Melbourne/Narrm based artist continues to evolve her big sounds alongside empowering ideas. “We’d all just grow so much taller and brighter and stronger and shinier together,” Memphis adds, and the proof is definitely in the synth-laced pudding.

Beyond the Charts

Simo Soo is one of those unique artists beyond categorisation. Pushing the boundaries of what hip hop, punk and dance music should sound like, the now Melbourne artist moves effortlessly between genre lines. Their latest, Metal opens with orchestral strings and melodic vocals before exploding into an abrasive, experimental-rap banger reminiscent of international acts like Clipping and JPEGMAFIA. They might not be on the charts yet, but Simo Soo is sure to grab the attention of broadcasters in the coming weeks.
