Budget Night live from Canberra - community-minded analysis for your listeners.

On Tuesday 3 May, community radio stations subscribed to the Community Radio Network can go live to the Hyatt Hotel in Canberra where a consortium of community radio stations will be unpacking the freshly released Federal Budget.

Hosted by 2SER and with reporters from CAAMA and SYN, this budget-night analysis will be coming fresh from the lockup and presented between studios in Canberra and Sydney.

Let your listeners be among the first to hear what this year’s Federal Budget will mean for the community. 

The night's commentators will include Dr. Peter Chen examining the politics behind the Budget announcement, Dr. Amanda Elliot looking at areas of health, education and welfare, and Dr. David Bond stepping back to look at the big picture.

Broadcast details

With opt-out points every 30 minutes, stations can easily choose how much programming to take live.

On CRN-2 (Channel 631 on VAST receivers). Special coverage starts 3 May at 20:00 to 21:00 AEST with an Opt-Out point at 20:29. Stations can also take the Treasurer's speech live at 19:30 and a repeat of the day's Wire at 19:04.

The special will be replayed as a 55:50 version in Extras 1 the following day, 4 May at 13:04 AEST for DDN Capture. Segments will be available for download from 2SER the following day - please email if interested.

Interviews with budget night reporters on your station
