Louisa Graham joins CBAA Board

The CBAA announced it has appointed Louisa Graham to its board to fill a casual vacancy. Ms Graham brings 20 years of executive manager and nonexecutive director experience in the not-for-profit sector, predominately in media, arts and campaign management as well as experience working in community radio.

She has just completed her time as CEO at the Walkley Foundation for Journalism, where she spent the last 10 years, first as General Manager, then as CEO. During that term, she served on several industry boards including Media Diversity Australia, the Alliance for Journalists’ Freedom, the Australian Copyright Council, and was appointed by the Minister for Communications, Urban Infrastructure, Cities and the Arts to the Small Regional & Rural Publisher’s Innovation Fund.

Jacquie Riddell, CBAA’s Chair, said, “Louisa has valuable journalism expertise, and we will put her experience to great use for the growth of the sector in this challenging media environment. We know that she has made significant contributions to the organisations where she has worked, and we welcome her to the CBAA Board.”

Listening to diverse stories and music and sharing with others is an important part of an inclusive Australian spirit. I look forward to bringing my experience to the sector.”

Ms Graham spent years involved in community broadcasting which included volunteering for 2XX in Canberra, 2NHR who had a test license, and 2SER in Sydney. She has held several board appointments including Word Travels, where she is currently the Chair, Media Diversity Australia, Alliance of Journalists’ Freedom, Australian Copyright Council, Talkoz Percussion Ensemble, Australian Institute of International Affairs, and Vice President Australian Republican Movement.
