A huge success in its inaugural year, CRN is pleased to again be pphoto of Jenn Grantresenting coverage over three days from the Mullum Music Festival, through the team at Bay FM. Now in its eighth year, international performers appearing include Ron Sexsmith, Jenn Grant (Canada), Ben Ottewell (UK), Honey Drops (USA), Trinity Roots and Cornerstone Roots (NZ) and many more, including top local folk and bluegrass acts. Check the festival page for a look at the huge line-up of perfomers covering roots, folk, jazz, bluegrass, pop and so much more.

Get planning for what times your station can switch to the live broadcasts, and check back here regularly for updates. Planned highlights to expect include:

Friday

  • Tora is back after moving to Australia bringing their chill wave sound to the airwaves. 

 Saturday

  • South Australia Artist Loren Kate will be performing live on-air with songs from her latest EP release. 
  • Jessica Cerro, also known as Montaigne will be in-studio for an interview and performance. Her latest single was a Triple J Unearthed finalist this year.
  • 19:00 EDT A host of young bands will be talking about the mentoring provided by the Mullum Music festival, hosted by our Youth Presenters and available on the SYN network - past interviews have included Potato Potato, Tora, and Gabe and Cecilia Brandolini.

 Sunday

  • Dustyesky, the Russian Choir will start the broadcast off with an acapella performance. 
  • 18:00 EDT Down From The Mountain: concert featuring songs from the film O Brother, Where Art Thou?, this promises to be a highlight with the rustic sounds of harmonies, mandolins, guitars, violins and banjos. Featuring accomplished international and local musicians including Jenn Grant (pictured), Hatfitz and Cara, and Suzannah Espie. Don't miss this feature as part of the festival coverage.

 

For CRN subcribers:

  • The Mullum Music Festival broadcasts will be airing live on CRN-2 (channel 631).
  • Broadcast times are 16:00 to 20:00 EDT on Friday 20, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November 2015.
  • The regular National Radio News will continue on CRN-1 during these times. The Mullum crew will re-introduce their broadcast at 16:05, 17:05, 18:05 and 19:05, for stations switching over from news bulletins.
  • 2 x 55'50 minute recorded highlights packages will be available in CRN's Extras slots on Wednesday 25 October.
