In Murky Waters was made on Barkandji country, and we pay our respects to their elder’s past, present and emerging.

 

It made headlines around the world in January of 2019 - millions of native fish perishing in the drying Murray-Darling Basin. The Murray-Darling – or Barka as it’s known by its traditional owners – has been at the centre of controversy for decades. And there is little sign of resolution.

 

Megan Williams takes us back to that January in 2019 and follows the man-made destruction of Australia’s largest river system.
