The Southern Community Media Association's (SCMA) Ray Hazen has been awarded an Order of Australia Medal for service to radio broadcasting.

Hazen has extensive experience in community broadcasting and currently serves as volunteer chief executive of the SCMA, a regional community broadcasting organisation. Prior to his invlovement with the SCMA, Hazen was instrumental in establishing community broadcasting station 2SCR in Barham, NSW.
