Sydney Community Digital Radio Stations Launch

On Tuesday, May 24th, Sydney’s eight city wide community radio stations launched digital radio services; FBi Radio, Inspire Digital, KRoo, 2MBS Fine Music, 2MFM Muslim DR, 2000Languages, 2RPH Digital and 2SER Digital – will launch eight new Digital Radio services, providing Sydney with more choice and new ways to listen to the city’s most diverse and accessible media.

To commemorate this historic occasion, a launch event for the digital radio network will be held at The Pavilion, Darling Park with the NSW Governor, Her Excellency Professor Marie Bashir AC CVO, officially overseeing proceedings, with the help of Sky News Australia Presenter, Leigh Hatcher as Master of Ceremonies and entertainment by the Trevor Rippingale Trio.

The eight new services will offer a broad range of exciting digital radio content including;

  • ethnic and multicultural programs broadcast in over 50 languages;
  • a totally new format station with the best Christian music and teaching from Australia and around the world;
  • a dedicated Muslim station covering all facets of Islamic life;
  • world music, classical and fine music;
  • magazine style readings for the vision impaired;
  • information, news, current affairs, engaging ideas, and unique programming;
  • indigenous music and information; and
  • new independent local and international music for both connoisseurs and explorers.
