The CBAA is currently accepting applications from eligible individuals interested in joining its Board of Directors.

In 2016, the Vice President (Radio) and four ordinary Board member vacancies are to be filled, as well as the Youth Representative role.

Nominations are particularly encouraged from people (to fill skills or diversity gaps):

  • From a regional or rural location
  • From an Indigenous background
  • From a non-English speaking background
  • With accountancy qualifications
  • With legal qualifications
  • With experience with dynamics of fundraising
Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be a person nominated by two Permanent Community Broadcasting Members or Temporary Community Broadcasting Members of the CBAA.

Nominees are expected to have a commitment to the ideals of community broadcasting, a solid knowledge of and interest in the development of community broadcasting as a national sector and commit to representing the interests of the whole sector – not just their station or special interest group.

How to nominate

Nominations will be accepted on the receipt of fully completed forms, including two (2) Voting Member nominators. Forms and further information regarding the positions is available in the Information Pack available to download below.

Nominees for all positions will need to complete the appropriate form (either Nomination for the CBAA Board or Nomination for the Youth Representative). This includes two (2) Voting Member nominators and written profile. A headshot should also be provided along with the scanned completed form via email no later than 5.00pm AEDT on Friday, 14 October 2016.

Please note that this is a change in procedure from previous years. Nominations now close 28 days before the AGM. This gives voting members a greater opportunity to review and familiarise themselves with the candidates prior to the election and to make a more informed choice on voting day.

Candidates for election to the CBAA Board will have an opportunity to briefly address members at the 2016 CBAA AGM, to be held on 11 November 2016 in Melbourne as part of the 2016 CBAA Conference program.
