Community broadcasting plays a vital role in Australia, a role that works to increase community involvement in broadcasting, including the valuable contribution of young people.

This session provided an opportunity for young people in community broadcasting to discuss ideas and issues of relevance to them at both a station and sector level as well as setting the agenda for the Youth Forum to be held at the 2016 CBAA Conference.

Presented by CBAA Youth Representative Tess Lawley

In addition to her role as Youth Representative, Tess is currently working as the General Manager of SYN Media, a youth-run media organisation that provides training and experience opportunities in radio and television broadcasting for young people. Tess has volunteered in a range of on air, off air and volunteer management roles at SYN, 3RRR, PBS and FBi. Tess is passionate about providing more opportunities for young media makers to have their voices heard.
