Canberra’s award-winning music and arts broadcaster ArtSound FM kicked off its annual Radiothon fundraiser last Friday, 1 November 2013 at a birthday garden party held at the Manuka Arts Centre with the theme '30 Years Between Your Ears'.

The Radiothon was launched by ArtSound’s Patron, His Excellency Mr Michael Bryce AM AE and was attended by approximately 70 listeners, sponsors, members and supporters celebrating ArtSound’s contribution over three decades to the music and arts community
of the ACT region.

General Manager of ArtSound FM, Chris Deacon OAM observed how the station had brought a totally new type of radio to Canberra as well as providing a focal point for production and recording services to the ACT arts and cultural sector.

'Over the past three decades, hundreds of dedicated volunteers from within and outside the music and arts community have come forward to offer help and be trained in radio presentation' he said.

The Radiothon culminates in an Open Day Birthday Party and Fair on Sunday 10 November from 10AM to 3PM at the Manuka Arts Centre, corner NSW Crescent and Manuka Circle. The fair will feature live music, food, plus sales of books, CDs, DVDs, LPs, artworks, ornaments, and quality treasures.
