Edge FM - 20 Years On Air

On Saturday August 30, 2014, 93.7 Edge FM, Bega's community radio station celebrated 20 years on air.

To celebrate this milestone, Edge FM held an open day with a free barbecue, live music and more.

Delegates from 2MNO FM, the local community radio station from nearby Monaro were on hand to share ideas with fellow community radio presenters and join in the festivities.

The celebrations continued on throughout the weekend with the station holding their anniversary dinner on Sunday 31 August 2014.

Bega Access Radio Incorporated was initially formed following the union of two separate community groups, Bega Valley Radio Group and Sapphire Stereo Radio.

The station began test broadcasts in March of 1993, transmitting for two weeks from a studio in Upper Street, Bega. The station commenced broacasting under the name of Edge FM in 1994.

Edge FM provides an eclectic mix of music and interesting programs to their local community of the Bega Valley, from Merimbula in the South to Wallaga Lake in the North.
