With the recent cancellation of this year’s Deadly Awards, the profile of the annual Darwin-based National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMAs) has taken on an increased importance. And CRN and CAAMA are joining forces to bring this special event to your station’s listeners.

Aboriginal music stars from across the country are set to shine at this year’s NIMAs, held under a tropical evening sky in Darwin’s Botanic Gardens Amphitheatre.

Celebrating contemporary Indigenous music, dance and culture, the event will feature a star-studded concert and prestigious awards ceremony showcasing talent from around Australia.

From concert headliner & Community Radio Amrap Ambassador Dan Sultan (pictured) performing his very own brand of smoking soul-rock, to Northern Territory singer/songwriter Tom E. Lewis, to the new reggae-rock sound of Central Australia’s Tjintu Desert Band, this diverse show is set to be huge.

Other performers include hip-hop artists Briggs, Jimblah and The Last Kinection, The Desert Divas, Jacinta Price (pictured), Catherine Satour and Mandy Garling, and the night’s host is TV personality Aaron Pedersen.

Utilising your CRN-2 connection (channel 631), your station can choose to take either just a portion or the entire broadcast. Contact CRN staff for further info on 02 9310 2999 or email.
