Many Community stations around the country - especially those who used to take the weekly indigenous music program Deadly Sounds - will be glad to hear that presenter/producer Rhoda Roberts will be returning to the CRN roster in 2015, with an all-new indigenous program.

Deadly Sounds was sadly discontinued back in August 2014, following the federal government’s de-funding of the program’s parent company ‘Vibe Australia’ (which also produced the annual indigenous Deadly Awards and Deadly Vibe magazine), and the untimely death of Vibe founder Gavin Jones.

As one of the Community sector’s most popular programs since it began in 1993, CRN has been working closely with Rhoda to establish a revitalised weekly program, and it’s looking like her new show – tentatively titled Deadly Voices From The House - will start in February 2015 (tbc). The program will be produced in the recording studios of the Sydney Opera House – where Rhoda is Head of Indigenous Programming, and be distributed nationwide by both the CRN and NIRS (National Indigenous Radio Service) networks.

Stayed tuned to the CRN E-News for further details as they are confirmed in coming weeks.
