SYN and 1700 present: Curtin Call
SYN and Melbourne’s only youth produced TV show 1700 present Curtin Call - a live music event celebrating an amazing year of music broadcasting. The night will showcase some of Melbourne’s best local talent, with four fantastic acts including rock guitar and loop pedal slayer Harts, captivating indie electronic artist Albert Salt, Melbourne chanteuse Gena Rose Bruce, and French horn clad folk duo The Bean Project. DJs from SYN's music programs The Hoist and New and Approved will keep the quality tunes coming between acts.
Born and bred in the hills of the eastern suburbs, The Bean Project will be turning heads with their unconventional instrumentation and raw folky charm.
Singer-song writer Gena Rose Bruce, has been killing it in the local scene with supporting gigs for bands such as The Pierce Brothers, Ella Hooper and Bonjah. Her distinct alt-country pop sound has gained her a lot of attention, including from SYN's 1700, where Gena has graced the screens this year and gave a charming performance that we couldn’t resist not having on the Curtin Call stage.
Albert Salt hit the Aussie music scene with a bang back in 2011 and has been on SYNs radar ever since. Over the years he has continue to develop as a musician, having just released his latest EP, ‘June’, earlier this year which has tracks featured in SYN's weekly Sweet 16.
Multi-instrumentalist/songwriter/producer, Harts has become known in the Melbourne music scene for his Dance orientated Funk, Rock tunes. Earlier this year he gained recognition a music legend Legendary Prince, who invited the young musician to a jam session. Harts latest album Daydreamer has delved into a darker side, exploring themes of paranoia and uncertainty.
