All roads lead to Tamworth in January for the annual Tamworth Country Music Festival, from Friday 17 January to Sunday 26 January 2014. It’s the largest music festival in the southern hemisphere and one of the top 10 in the world.

The Community Radio Network's breakfast crew Good Morning Country is again hitting the black top and making its way to the centre of all things country music, to bring listeners a taste of 2014 the Tamworth Country Music festival.

The regular Good Morning Country breakfast show from Monday 20 to Friday 24 January will be presented live from Tamworth, and chock full of in-studio interviews with established and upcoming country music artists.

And around that make sure to tune in for two special live broadcasts from the flagship awards events of the festival:

Sunday 19 January - Star Maker - Australia's most successful and prestigious country music search. Broadcast time 18:30 to 23:00 EDT, replacing regular programming. The Good Morning Country crew will preview the event from 18:30, and cross to the stage presentation from 19:00 EDT. Please note that last year the event ran over schedule (out of CRN's control) and had to be extended. While unlikely to occur again, it may be worth planning around that possibility.

This Star Maker broadcast is from the event "final" and held at Tamworth Town Hall. In the past this was the final "final". However a format change means that this event now whittls down the top ten to a final top three contestants, and there is an additional "Grand Final", held later in the festival. CRN will bring stations coverage of this "Grand Final" in 2 x 1hr parts, playing in the program Spotlight, Thursday at 20:00 EDT on 30 January and 6 February. Contact us for further info.

Saturday 25 January - Golden Guitars - this is Australian country music’s most prestigious night of nights and recognises recording excellence with a gala concert. Broadcast time 19:00 to 23:00 EDT, replacing regular programming. The Good Morning Country crew will preview the event from 19:00 and cross to the live stage presentation at 19:30. They'll be back to wrap up the event, interviewing some of the winners, from around 22:30 to 23:00.
