And our keynote speaker is...

Without further ado, the CBAA is excited to announce that RocKwiz producer and co-host Brian Nankervis will be joining us at our Conference in Melbourne to deliver the keynote address.

Nankervis fell in love with radio as a young lad, listening in front of the kerosene heater on a rainy day. He began presenting shows on Melbourne's Triple R in 1979 and currently co hosts The Friday Revue on 774 ABC.

Brian will celebrate his deep love affair with radio, particularly the joy and power of community radio.

Brian joins a growing line up of fantastic speakers coming to share their expertise at the largest annual gathering of community broadcasters - the CBAA Conference!

An Australian radio, theater, television and comedy stalwalt, Brian's list of credits since he fled his life as a primary school teacher is extensive and impressive in equal measure. You may know him best as the writer, producer and co-host of the A.F.I. Award-winning music trivia series RocKwiz, or may have heard him alongside co-host Richelle Hunt on 774 ABC Radio's The Friday Revue.

• Narrated and acted in Vandemonian Lags, a theatrical presentation written by Mick Thomas and produced by the MONA Art Gallery in Hobart (2013).
• Hosted a series for the Working Dog team on Channel Seven, Pictures Of You (2012).
• Directed Hell Ain’t A Bad Place To Be, a narrative concert based on the life of Bon Scott (2011).
• Co-wrote and hosted the Queensland Country Comfort Hour, five one hour radio shows for the Queensland Music festival and ABC Radio in Queensland (2011).
• Co-producer and co-writer - Boys and Balls (ABC TV).
• Producer - Class Clowns - annual Comedy festival project.
• Performed in Storming St Kilda By Tram, On Shifting Sandshoes and Full House, No Vacancies for Theatreworks.
• Performed in It’s A Dad Thing at the Athenaeum Theatre.
• Wrote, performed and produced solo shows From The Cradle To The Grave and Open Road for the Adelaide Fringe Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
• Wrote and performed on Network Ten hospital soap opera Let The Blood Run Free.
• Made regular appearances on Hey Hey It's Saturday as tortured street poet Raymond J Bartholomeuz.
• Contributor to The Age, 774 ABC Radio, Triple R.
