An exciting series featuring discussions with Luke Boerdam (Violent Soho), Dan Sultan and Hermitude.

Anatomy of an Album is an exciting new series of three specials by APRA AMCOS and CBAA's Community Radio Network, picking apart great Australian albums with the songwriters and producers who brought them to life. Starting Wednesday 27 September, these specials will be made available to CRN-subscriber stations for broadcast.

This series takes an in-depth look at the making of albums that have shaped Australia's modern musical landscape, all the way from the early demos to the finished masters. 

The moderated discussions and Q&As explore how the songwriters and producers behind these iconic albums have set new benchmarks for songwriting and production in this industry, as well reveal the studio tips, stories and secrets that you might have missed!

Brisbane's Violent Soho released their third album Hungry Ghost to both critical and popular acclaim in 2013.

Songwriter Luke Boerdam and producer Bryce Moorhead join APRA AMCOS' Kellie Lloyd to dissect the record, stem by stem, and take you through the process of writing, demoing and recording what went on to become an ARIA Award- nominated, top 10, gold-selling album.

ARIA Award winner Dan Sultan released his fourth studio album, Killer, on the 28th of July 2017.

Lyrically, the album is more reflective than his previous work, with synthesisers and drum machines added to the mix.

Sultan was joined by Jan Skubiskewski, his long-time collaborator and producer, to dissect the album, taking you through the whole process from writing, and demoing through to recording.

Hermitude (Luke Dubber and Angus Stuart) and album co-writer Tim Levinson (Urthboy) sit down to talk about their latest record, Dark Night Sweet Light.

The album, released in 2015, debuted at #1 on the ARIA Album Chart and featured the APRA Music Awards nominated single The Buzz.

The trio will discuss the formation of the album from initial beats, composition and lyrics through to recording and mastering.
