Every 25 April, Australia commemorates ANZAC Day with services and marches in cities and towns and throughout Australia and the world where servicemen, servicewomen and peacekeepers are stationed, to remember all those who lost their lives in service to their country, in all wars.

Normally we do this together, but this year is obviously different. While we may not be able to gather together in a physical sense, we as a sector are doing all we can to mark the day.

The Community Radio Network (CRN) is pleased to make available content for stations use, including:

Much is known about the Australian regular Army, Navy and Air Force units who served in New Guinea during WW2, but we don't hear much about the Papuans who were fighting desperately for their own freedom from the Japanese invaders. Their people suffered greatly at the hands of the Japanese, and with their food going to help support the Allies, their people were often starving.
