Welcome to the December 2016 content of the CBAA's national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.

Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.

What's in this month's segments?

This month we:

  • Hear about the support Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia (PANDA) provides to expecting and new parents, including a specialist national mental health telephone counselling service.

  • Look at how young people can deal with the stress and worry that they may experience while waiting for exam results and further education offers.

  • Discuss the importance of reaching out to those around us and asking the simple question ‘are you okay?’ with singer-songwriter, X Factor runner-up and R U OK? ambassador Louise Adams.

How to access the segments

Starting in 2016, the CBAA host these radio segments on Soundcloud.
