Community Broadcasting Suicide Prevention Project - January 2019
Welcome to the January 2019 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.
Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.
What's in this month's segments?
- We chat with Dr Grant Blashki from beyondblue about how the start of a new year is a good time for many of us to get some help and support to deal with mental health issues.
- We find out about the information, advice and support you can access from headspace if you’re a young person who’s experiencing depression, or if you’re going through a tough time.
- We look at the importance of work-life balance, and find out where and when you should get help for your teenager’s mental health.
- And we find out more about how to recognise the signs and symptoms of depression.
