The Community Broadcasting Association is pleased to welcome you to the July 2024 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health.

Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.

This month, we find out about a new report by mental health service ReachOut that identifies the most common issues of concern for parents and carers across Australia, the issues that are having the greatest mental health impacts on their young people, and where parents and carers are turning for support.

We learn how Gidget Foundation Australia works to raise awareness of perinatal depression and anxiety and provide support for those in need.

We hear about Butterfly’s second annual Body Kind Youth Survey, which reveals young people in Australia are calling for more support to tackle body image issues and the impacts of body dissatisfaction on their daily lives.

We invite schools from across Australia to inspire conversations that count through the R U OK? National Student Art Competition.

And we find out about the support that is available from PANDA for new parents and parents-to-be in regional and remote areas.

Download the segments for your station to promote.
