The Community Broadcasting Association is pleased to welcome you to the May 2024 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health.

Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.

This month, we learn about the content ReachOut has developed for young people to help them to navigate through the ups and downs of romantic relationships.

We profile the new When Life Happens, ask R U OK? series and look at how we can support people who may be struggling with their transition to retirement.

We catch up with Motherless Daughters Australia to find out how mother loss impacts on Australian women.

We learn about Parents Beyond Breakup, a national suicide prevention charity that is focused on supporting separating fathers and mothers that are going through family breakdown.

And we find out about Lifeline’s Support Toolkit, which is designed to reach help seekers who aren’t ready to talk to someone else about their situation, or who simply prefer to manage things themselves first.

Download the segments for your station to promote.
