Community radio has been very well represented in the current intake of the AFTRS Graduate Diploma Radio, with 14 of the 18 students having volunteered in the sector.

AFTRS Director of Radio, Mark Collier said: “We’re thrilled with the calibre of students this year. Community radio no doubt plays an important role in shaping their radio careers.”

The Graduate Diploma in Radio at AFTRS is recognised widely as a leading broadcasting course focussing on not just traditional broadcasting skills but also leading the way with training in digital, cross platform skills.

Alumni include Simon Marnie (ABC Sydney Weekend Breakfast), Nick Findlay (Triple J Assistant Music Director), Melanie Withnall (2SER Managing Director), Katya Quigley and Fiona Poole (ABC Mid North Coast), Jason Morrison (2UE Drive) and Tim Blackwell (Nova Melbourne).

Applications for the 2014 course open in September. Register your interest by emailing or calling 02 9805 6586.
