Regional and Rural eChamps is a multimedia training opportunity which will connect the world of community broadcasting with social media.

At this year’s Queensland youth media forum, to be held on 14th April at 4EB in Brisbane, there will be 7 places available for young people from rural areas to access accredited training to develop their online media skills and extend their broadcasting capacity.

The project will include some online preparation, a full day of training in Brisbane on Friday the 13th April, live coverage of the Queensland youth media forum on Saturday 14th April and some training delivered by you at your station. The program includes training on interactive content, audio and photo production.

Applications are opened to broadcasters who live in rural or regional areas and who are currently producing a multicultural, language or cultural program at a community radio station. Please let your station know if you are seeking to participate. We will cover flights, accommodation and registration for the QLD youth forum. You or your station will need to cover any other costs.

Seven young people from regional and rural Australia will be chosen to learn how to broadcast using various social media. With camera, laptop, recorder and phone, accredited training, a youth media forum and one day of broadcasting.
