On 19 February, it was announced by the The University of Adelaide that it would enter an agreement with Fresh 92.7 to secure a future for Radio Adelaide as an independent community radio station.

Community Broadcasting Association of Australia Chief Executive Officer Jon Bisset has made the following comment on this new development for Radio Adelaide:

“The CBAA wants to see Radio Adelaide in a position to continue its important and nationally recognised contribution to diverse and independent community media. The station has a long history of providing a voice for a range of social and cultural groups and under addressed issues, training Australia’s broadcasters and providing a broad educational community radio service in Adelaide. We encourage the Radio Adelaide community, University of Adelaide and Fresh 92.7 to work constructively towards an independent and sustainable future for the station.”
