Station Sustainability

Print

Community radio stations are not for profit, independent, largely volunteer-run organisations with diverse funding models, ranging from the larger metropolitan stations to smaller niche and regional stations and everything in between. On average, 85% of station income is from sources other than government grants. Financial sustainability in this environment is a challenge and the CBAA prioritises support to ensure stations continue to have the knowledge and resources to succeed. This means ensuring the reliability of government funding and supporting the development of other revenue sources.
