The Community Broadcasting Association is pleased to welcome you to the April 2024 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health.

Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.

This month, we hear why the R U OK? message is so effective in the workplace, and learn about the specific information, programs and events R U OK? provides for a range of different industries.

Following on from the release of their 2023 Impact Report, we catch up with Kids Helpline to find out more about the free, private and confidential 24/7 phone and online counselling services they provide for young people aged 5 to 25.

We catch up with the team at Suicide Prevention Australia to find out why it’s important for Australians experiencing elevated cost-of-living and personal debt distress to seek help early.

We speak with headspace about the importance of young women exploring more opportunities for social connection.

And we find out about the support that is available from PANDA for new parents and parents-to-be in regional and remote areas.

Download the segments for your station to promote.
