The Community Broadcasting Association is pleased to welcome you to the January 2024 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health.

Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.

This month, we learn about the mental health assessment and clinical counselling services Open Arms provides for Australian veterans and their families.

We catch up with the team at Butterfly to learn more about some of the common myths or misconceptions about eating disorders and body image.

We look at some new research by ReachOut which shows the high cost of living is having increasing mental health impacts for young Australians.

We learn about the support and resources R U OK? provides for primary, secondary and tertiary educators and institutions to help students everywhere to talk about their feelings and support each other.

And we find out about the support that is available from PANDA for new parents and parents-to-be in regional and remote areas.

Download the segments for your station to promote.
