The Community Broadcasting Association of Australia is pleased to welcome you to the December 2023 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health.

Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.

This month, we catch up with headspace to learn about an online parenting program designed to help parents and carers support their high school-aged young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

The team at ReachOut tells us how young people can manage stress during the holiday period by being proactive and having a plan for how they’re going to manage key dates and activities.

We catch up with PANDA to find out why it’s important for more of us to have conversations and build connections with new and expecting parents.

We find out about the anonymous and free peer support and referral QLife provides for the LGBTIQ+ community around Australia.

And we find out about the Perinatal Mental Health Support Finder, an online tool that can help those experiencing perinatal mental health issues find the right support services.

For more information on this project, please contact the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia on (02) 9310 2999, or email: [email protected]

Segments can be accessed via the CRN box.
