The Australian Government Department of Health have extended funding for the CBAA National Suicide Prevention Project, as part of the National Suicide Prevention and Leadership Support Program.

The purpose of the project is to:

  • raise awareness of suicide prevention;
  • reduce the stigma around suicide;
  • reduce the prevalence of suicide and suicidal behaviours in Australia and its impact on individuals, their families and communities.

Each month, 20 short radio segments are released to community broadcasters across Australia. They are designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.
