In this webinar we will look at what is required for community broadcasters to be registered as a charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission. In particular we will explore the opportunities and obligations that accompany charity registration.

We will explore opportunities such as:

  • choosing the right subtype of charity registration for your organisation;

  • accessing concessions and benefits that come with charity registration;

  • choosing the right charitable corporate structure for your organisation;

  • undertaking fundraising, commercial activities and social enterprise; and

  • collaboration, joint-ventures and mergers with other charities, as a means to increase impact.

We will also unpack the obligations of charitable registration, such as:

  • meeting the ACNC Governance Standards;

  • ensuring directors meet their responsibilities and duties as responsible persons;

  • implementing and following effective policies and procedures for your organisation; and

  • meeting reporting obligations.
