As always, community broadcasters featured strongly in the Governor General's Australia Day Honours List, in addition to various other local community awards announced as part of Australia Day celebrations.

Amongst them were a number of programs which feature or have featured on CRN over the year. 4EB's Fair Comment won the award for Best New Radio Program - Talks, while many others were finalists in their respective categories.
It wasn't quite the mass panic caused by the original War of the Worlds broadcast 75 years ago, but some Sydney-siders found themselves looking anxiously skywards tonight as 2SER recreated the historic War of the Worlds broadcast, with a modern twist.
