'Women On The Line' presenter wins Best Radio Feature/Current Affairs category for the program 'Is Domestic Violence Different in Hollywood?'

The EVAs Media Awards (Eliminating Violence Against Women Media Awards) honour journalists for excellence in the reporting of violence against women, in print, television, radio and online media; and celebrate media contributions to the prevention of violence against women.

Entries are judged on journalistic merit with emphasis on promoting community awareness and understanding of violence against women, and inspiring community interest and action.

The EVAs are judged by an expert panel featuring representatives from the media industry and the broader community, as well as experts from the violence against women, family violence and sexual assault sectors.

The 2013 EVAs Media Awards were held on the 19th July 2013 at the ANZ Pavillion. Nominees from print, television, radio and online media joined distinguished guests to honour journalists for their excellent reporting and to celebrate media contributions to the prevention of violence against women.

Clemmie Wetherall from 3CR's 'Women on the Line' was the winner of the Best Radio Feature/Current Affairs category for the program 'Is Domestic Violence Different in Hollywood?', a piece that explores domestic violence by using a well known Hollywood incident of family violence and makes it relevant to the ordinary person.

Further information, including examples of the winning pieces are available from the 2013 EVA's website.
