ACT Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Rachel Stephen-Smith MLA, presented the 2017 Multicultural Media Award to community radio 2XX presenter Victor Marillanca.

The Media award "recognises your efforts through the use of media to challenge stereotypes by accurately and positive portraying and promoting Canberrans from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds".

Victor is also the Multicultural representative on the 2XX Board of Management and President of the Community Ethnic Broadcasters Association of ACT Inc. Victor has had many achievements throughout his career; be it for his early days setting up the Spanish language radio program in 1976, or for his Radio 2XX FM Canberra Latino program on Wednesday evenings. His commitment to broadcasting has been unwavering including continuing to present a latino musical program Audidromo Latinoamericano or his presenting of the Multicultural Voices of the ACT on behalf of the Canberra Multicultural Community Forum (CMCF).
