Tuesday, 14 May will be the moment when Australians think most about money, Federal Budget Day. As Treasurer Jim Chalmers announces the detail, community radio’s flagship current affairs show, The Wire, will broadcast a live budget special from inside Federal Parliament. On air from 8pm to 9pm it fits with the sector’s Roadmap 2033 goal of collaboration: between National Radio News, The Wire and other contributing stations.

2SER’s Presenter, Rod Chambers, along with a team of volunteers, will work with Federal Politics Reporter, Noah Secomb, NRN’s Sasha Foot, as well as Alexi Boyd, host and driving force behind Triple H’s Small Business Matters.

Executive Producer of The Wire, Eduardo Jordan says: “ It’s an exciting collaboration taking the Federal budget's impressions from Canberra to the community, capturing reaction, and strengthening the voices from each corner of Australia."

Broadcast Details

20:00-21:00 AEST, Tuesday, 14 May 2024 on CRN-1, Channel 630

The broadcast will be recorded and available on demand for any stations that wish to air it later.

Programs that usually go to air from 8-9PM, Well, Well, Well and All the Best, will be available via FTP.
