Community Broadcasting Suicide Prevention Project - April 2016
Welcome to the April 2016 content of the CBAA's national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.
Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.
What's in this month's segments?
This month we:
- Hear about the many opportunities to get involved in suicide prevention, and how you can think about your personal readiness to be involved.
- Learn about the results of the first national research project into the way mental illness is portrayed visually in Australia.
- Look at the things we can do if we’re concerned about the way someone close to us is behaving, and are worried that something is not quite right.
- Hear why it’s important to have the support of our workmates and employers when we’re going through difficult times.
