Welcome to the May 2018 content of our national suicide prevention and mental health awareness project, developed with the support of the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing.

Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.

What's in this month's segments?
  • This month we look at the impact that cyberbullying can have on the well-being of young people, and the increased frequency and intensity of bullying that can happen when technology is involved.
  • We profile Mates in Construction, a program that aims to deliver better mental health and wellbeing outcomes for workers in the building and construction industry.
  • We learn about the support beyondblue can provide if you’re concerned about anxiety or depression, or if you know someone who may need some help or information.
  • We hear about the support Yourtown provides for parents who feel like they’re struggling and need some advice or support.
  • And we learn more about how young people, and those around them, can recognise if they’re experiencing depression.
