What's in this month's segments?

Each month, our project team develops a series of 20 short radio segments designed to promote help-seeking behaviour and positive lifestyle choices, using interviews with service providers, as well as profiles of people who have successfully dealt with tough times in their lives.

This month we find out how you can raise funds and awareness for mental health this November by growing a moustache, or by supporting Movember in a range of other ways.

Following on from this year’s World Mental Health Day, we catch up with Mental Health Australia CEO Leanne Beagley to find out why prioritising our mental health and wellbeing is more important than ever given all of the stresses and difficulties we’re facing.

We find out about year’s Perinatal Mental Health Week (7-13 November) which focuses on breaking down barriers which may prevent new and expecting parents from accessing support.

We learn more about the support the National Indigenous Postvention Service provides to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families, and communities affected by suicide or other significant trauma.

And we catch up with the team at ReachOut to find out how young people can manage their feelings of anger and frustration about the news and use them in helpful ways.
